A free update will bring giant hamsters, swimming pools, elaborate clock towers and more to - Xbox One Edition, all thanks to user-created mods. Developer and Publisher Paradox has been hoping to bring mods to the console version of the city builder since launch and will finally meet that goal in less than 24 hours.Similar to other console games that allow mods, the developers are vetting the content that will make its way from PC to Xbox. 'A selection of mods that have been curated, tested, and are ready to drop right into your cities' will await players following a February 20th update, all free of charge. After the initial mod drop, a post hints that 'we’d love to see about keeping this content growing,' so look out for more additions to the mod program.

In addition to the hint about future additions, a planned free content update that will let players host their own sports teams will go out on March 6th. Of course, there is also the remaining DLC from the Cities: Skylines.Achievement hunters are probably curious if their glorious hamster statue will remove the ability to earn achievements. There has been no official word yet about Xbox mods disabling achievements.
