Fallout 4 Mods For Consoles Average ratng: 9,8/10 5862 reviews

I didn't think I'd have to resort to downloading the best Fallout 4 mods as quick as I did. When Fallout 4 first came out, it was on the coattails of Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

Mods

It was going to be legendary. I was losing my mind at every single new trailer. But time has passed, and I got tired of the game after my first playthrough.

After that, the quests started feeling redundant. They were always focused on pointless tasks such as 'clear this compound,' or 'find me this special thing.' I love a good story, but sadly, the sidequests turned out to be pretty dry. Before anything, you first have to enable mods for your game.

That is relatively simple. The first step is to find your Fallout 4 folder, usually through the path UserDocumentsMy GamesFallout4. Once you find the folder, look for the file 'Fallout4Custom.ini' and then open it. If you can't find the file, simply make it using a text editor and place it into the Fallout 4 folder.

Once you've opened the file Fallout4Custom.ini you'll want to paste these lines into the folder:ArchivebInvalidateOlderFiles=1sResourceDataDirsFinal=After that, you just need to save and close the file, and you'll be all set.One of the easiest ways to install Fallout 4 mods is through the Nexus Mod Manager. Nexus Mods has all of the best Fallout 4 mods on their website, and their mod manager enjoys widespread use. You can download the off their website. To install mods using Nexus Mod Manager, simply go to the 'files' page of mods on Nexus Mods, and select the 'Mod Manager Download' button. Be wary, however, as there is still a chance of mods having viruses on their website.

If you stick to the mods with thousands to millions of downloads though, they're likely to be safe. How To Install Fallout 4 Mods On Xbox One And Ps4Installing mods on consoles is a much more straightforward process. As mentioned previously, you'll first select the 'mods' section in the start menu, and then sign into a Bethesda.net account. After you find the mod you want to download, you simply select the mod, then select the 'download' option. After that, you have the option to customize the 'load order.' This will be your friend when you have too many mods downloaded. The mods on the top will have priority over mods below it, allowing you to help prevent mods from interfering with each other.

Arbitration is one of the less intensive overhauls. The mod focuses on creating a more hardcore experience but doesn't overdo it. Most of the changes deal with making the enemy AI more realistic. When it comes to changes to enemy AI, Arbitration makes them smarter and more aggressive. During combat, enemies are less likely to blindly charge you. Instead, they hold their cover and attempt to flank you when they get a chance.Enemy AI can also spot you from farther away, but it comes with clever tweaks.

The stealth in Arbitration takes into account your distance from enemies, as well as how bright of lighting you're in. In general, stealth feels more grounded. Arbitration eliminates the immersion breaking moments where an enemy stares right at you, then mosies away like you weren't standing in the middle of a lit hallway.Along with changes to AI and stealth, Arbitration makes a few other tweaks to give a more realistic and hardcore Fallout 4 experience. If you're like me and found Fallout 4 to be like shooting fish in a barrel, you'll want to off Nexus Mods. However, if you want an even more dramatic change to Fallout 4, Horizon is what you're looking for. Horizon is the survival experience. The mod was made specifically for survival difficulty and makes sweeping changes to the entire game.

If you always wanted a greater challenge in Fallout 4, Horizon will do just that for you.Whereas Arbitration mainly changed the AI, Horizon changes the entire game. For instance, it completely reworks the skill tree, armor and weapons, and health pools. All of the changes center around creating a much more hardcore and strategic playthrough. As an example, one way Horizon changes how you play the game is by reducing your chances to heal. Stimpacks are the only method to regain health in combat, and various healing items need to be used to heal yourself outside of combat. However, stimpacks can't heal broken limbs during combat.

Changes such as these make you reevaluate encounters since you won't feel like a 'one man army' anymore. If Horizon sounds up your alley, you can through Nexus Mods. Horizon is one of the best Fallout 4 mods for the hardcore gamer. The mod makes Fallout 4 a post-apocalyptic survival simulator, rather than a run and gun adventure. Graphics ModsSometimes all you want to do is polish Fallout, rather than completely rework it. Graphics mods are superb tools that make your game look however you want it to. You can make a dreary world even more dismal, or bring vibrant light and color to your world.

One of the more simple mods, the Enhanced Lights and FX mod overhauls the lighting in Fallout 4. Their goal was to make the game more atmospheric, and you'll really notice this indoors. Light doesn't magically appear and brighten up rooms anymore. Instead, it emits from light sources and dims as it gets farther away from its source. The biggest problem you may encounter with Enhanced Lights and FX is difficulty seeing when in dark places, requiring you to pull out your Pip-Boy more often.

The mod is certainly worth off Nexus Mods if you're looking to increase immersion. Actually decreasing the resolution of textures, the Texture Optimization Project helps computers run the game smoothly.

It turns out textures in the game are abnormally large, causing performance issues for those without high-end PCs. The creators of the Texture Optimization Project took it into their own hands to compress textures. While the mod does decrease texture resolutions, it's very minimal and able to be easily overlooked. You'll certainly want to the Texture Optimization Project off Nexus Mods if your computer struggles to run Fallout 4.

Fallout 4 Seasons is a tremendous way to give your game more vibrancy and color. The mod has all four seasons to choose from, and each season looks drastically different from the others. Spring is full of lush greens, with vibrant foliage and leaves on the trees. Autumn, on the other hand, has more of the bare look of vanilla fallout, while adding in enough golden leaves to still give the game a new ambiance.

Sadly, you have to manually switch the seasons as they don't automatically change. If you'd love to give your world a more magical feel, Fallout 4 Seasons is more than worth off Nexus Mods.

Settlement ModsThe base settlement system was always seen as an afterthought by the Fallout 4 community. Even if you loved getting creative with it, the system felt limiting and clunky. Settlement mods allow you to go crazy with your imagination, giving you more tools and options to play with. Another of the greats for settlement crafting is the Settlement Supplies Expanded mod. This mod adds over 400 objects for you to put in your settlements. Objects range from interactive barber chairs to decorative items such as rocks and trees. You're able to finally build the settlement of your dreams, whether that's a mansion, fortress, or some other zany endeavor.

Be wary though, as the mod hasn't had much support since 2016, meaning bugs may go unpatched. off Nexus Mods to get your dream settlement going. Ever wish you could completely level your settlements so you could build whatever you wanted? The Scrap Everything mod lets you do just that. Broken houses, bushes, whatever you want, you can scrap it. The only limitation is that you can't scrap outside of the build area. That is unless you have a mod that lets you build outside of the green area. The mod's available foron Nexus Mods.

Additional Gameplay ModsWith the plethora of mods available for Fallout 4, they can't all be fit into neat categories. Here are some more of the best Fallout 4 mods that make your game a more diverse experience. These two mods, Armorsmith Extended and Weaponsmith Extended, add a massive amount of weapons and outfits to your game.

In fact, it's mind blowing just how many weapons are in Weaponsmith Extended. On the other hand, Armorsmith Extended is a bit more diverse, adding not only outfits but also features such as the ability to wear all outfits under armor. Armorsmith Extended also allows you to craft every vanilla outfit. Together, the games help you have a new Fallout 4 experience without changing the base of the game. You can download and off Nexus Mods. As you can probably infer, the Wearable Backpacks and Pouches mod brings backpacks and pouches into the game. These can either be added purely for looks or adjusted to actually increase your carry weight.

There are six different items you can choose from, each with their own unique style. The mod is excellent for the hoarder who can't pass up any piece of armor or weapon they encounter. On the downside, the mod's support was discontinued a long time ago, so any issues that pop up won't be resolved. If you're a diehard scavenger, you'll want to the mod from Nexus Mods.
